PAYROLL & HR ADMINISTRATOR (JUNIOR-INTERMEDIATE)
Cape Town (Kraaifontein):
My client, a well-established company specialising in premium consumer goods, is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll & HR Administrator to join their HR team.
Purpose of the Role:To take hands on responsibility for payroll administration while providing structured support to the HR Manager and team. This role requires a highly accurate, deadline driven individual who can work with urgency, follow processes, and take initiative in resolving issues.
Key Responsibilities Include but Are Not Limited To: Payroll (Core Focus):- Processing payroll inputs including hours, overtime, deductions, and leave
- Capturing, reconciling, and verifying wage sheets (Excel) before submission
- Managing time and attendance data with a high level of accuracy
- Handling payroll queries and resolving discrepancies proactively
- Assisting with statutory submissions (EMP201, EMP501, ETI) and payroll reporting
- Ensuring all payroll information is accurate, checked, and submitted within strict deadlines
- Managing daily HR administrative tasks in line with operational priorities
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date employee records and documentation
- Coordinating recruitment administration and onboarding processes
- Supporting performance management, training coordination, and compliance processes
- Assisting with employee relations administration and HR reporting
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work with urgency and meet strict deadlines
- Strong numerical and Excel capability (wage sheet reconciliation is critical)
- Ability to follow SOPs and take clear, structured notes
- Proactive problem solving and ability to work independently
- Clear and professional communication (written and verbal)
- Ability to manage multiple tasks without compromising quality
- Minimum 2-3 years' experience in payroll administration (essential)
- Proven experience working on a payroll system (non negotiable)
- Advanced Excel skill (formulas, reconciliation, data accuracy)
- Sound knowledge of payroll processes and basic labour legislation
- High attention to detail with the ability to self review work before submission
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment
- Professional communication and good telephone etiquette
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans
- Reliable, punctual, and able to meet working hour expectations
- Comfortable working across multiple systems/screens
- Experience within FMCG, retail, or manufacturing advantageous
Candidates who currently reside in close proximity to the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town or Stellenbosch will be considered for this position
