About this role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Partnership Lead to join our team in South Africa. This role is critical in driving our business growth and expanding our market presence in the region. The ideal candidate for this role should be able to contribute to building relationships, implementing new programs that will increase our business's revenue potential, and minimizing churn rates.

What you'll own (outcomes, not activities)

In the first 6 months, you will:

  • Build an agency partner engine that consistently generates qualified demos
  • Create a repeatable co selling motion with top agencies (Shopify dev, ecommerce dev, Klaviyo, CRO)
  • Close and expand a portfolio of DTC/ecommerce brands in SA (and help us learn what wins)
Responsibilities
  • Partner led growth (primary)
    • Identify, recruit, and activate Shopify and ecommerce development agencies, Klaviyo agencies, and CRO/paid media studios.
    • Build partner tiers (registered active strategic), referral rules, and a simple incentive model.
    • Run enablement: partner pitch, demo scripts, case studies, pricing playbooks, objection handling.
    • Co sell with partners: join calls, run joint audits, craft WhatsApp revenue strategies per brand.
    • Co marketing with agencies: webinars, workshops, lead magnets, WhatsApp playbooks.
  • Direct DTC growth (secondary)
    • Prospect and engage DTC/ecommerce brands
    • Run discovery and product demos, propose a rollout plan, and move deals to close
    • Work with onboarding/support to ensure early value, reviews, case studies, and expansion
  • Market learning loop
    • Feed product + GTM insights back to the team: what partners ask for, what Merchants need to know, what wins/loses deals in SA
Who you are
  • High energy, self starter, comfortable with ambiguity and fast iteration
  • Strong communicator: can talk to founders, agency owners, CRM managers, and marketers
  • Consultative seller mindset (diagnose prescribe close), not "feature dumping."
  • Organized operator: can run a pipeline, follow up cadence, partner tracking, and deliver weekly output
Must haves
  • 3-7 years of experience in partnerships, agency BD, ecommerce SaaS sales, or digital agency account growth
  • Working knowledge of e commerce + performance marketing basics (Shopify, WooCommerce, Klaviyo, CRO, ROAS, CAC/LTV)
  • Experience running discovery calls + demos + proposals (even if not formally "sales")
  • Based in Cape Town (or willing to be)
Nice to haves
  • Experience selling/partnering in MarTech (Klaviyo, Yotpo, Gorgias, Recharge, Attentive style tools)
  • Existing relationships with SA ecommerce agencies / DTC operators
  • Experience with WhatsApp, conversational commerce, or retention tooling
What success looks like (example KPIs)
  • Active partners: # recruited, # activated, # producing referrals monthly
  • Partner sourced pipeline: demos, SQLs, win rate, time to close
  • Direct pipeline: demos/run rate, closed won, expansion/reviews Working style
    • Hybrid/field oriented (agency meetings, merchant meetings, events)
    • Weekly cadence: pipeline review, partner activation sprint, deal strategy, learnings back to product/marketing
