SANCCOB, a globally recognised leader in seabird conservation, is seeking to appoint a Partnership and Consultancy Officer to join its dynamic and dedicated team based in Table View, Cape Town. This is a fulltime, fixed-term contract position.

Full-time / Part-time This position is offered on a full-time, fixed-term contract of 12 months, with any extension dependent on performance.
Work Hours Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm. Given the nature of the work required, working hours will need to be flexible but generally equate to 40 hours per week.
Travel Requirements Be willing and able to travel locally and internationally, as required.
The PositionReporting to the Preparedness and Response Manager, the Partnership and Consultancy Officer will be responsible for identifying, developing, and securing funding opportunities to support SANCCOB's oiled wildlife preparedness and response capacity. This includes strengthening sustainable financing through contingency planning, training, equipment readiness, and response exercises.
Key Responsibilities Business Development and Stakeholder Engagement- Generate sustainable income to support SANCCOB's Emergency Preparedness and Response Programme.
- Maintain and strengthen existing partnerships, while identifying, prioritising, and securing new funding opportunities across industry, government, and philanthropic sectors. This includes proactively identifying, engaging, and building relationships with potential clients and partners, such as oil and gas operators, shipping companies, governments, and regional bodies.
- Conduct needs and market assessments to inform the development of funding opportunities for oiled wildlife preparedness and response.
- Develop and deliver tailored proposals, presentations, and engagement strategies to secure new stakeholder partnerships, retainers, consultancy agreements, and other income-generating opportunities, to ensure that financial income targets are met.
- Collaborate with SANCCOB's internal teams to align consultancy offerings with organisational capacity and expertise.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory developments to inform strategic outreach.
- Track and report on partnership development activities and outcomes.
- Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and reporting requirements.
- Grant writing, proposal writing, report writing, and stakeholder engagement.
- Contribute to the development of technical assignments.
- Compile funding landscape assessment reports.
- Develop an Oiled Wildlife Preparedness Resource Mobilisation strategy.
- Develop and implement Stakeholder Engagement Plans.
- Degree/Diploma in business development, sales or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in consultancy, business development, or emergency response planning.
- Proven track record in securing sales or contracts.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Experience working with government agencies, NGOs, and industry stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and travel (both locally and internationally).
- A valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of maritime activities.
- Multilingual (English required; French or Portuguese advantageous).
- Understanding of oiled wildlife response and marine environmental protection.

- Must be a South African citizen or hold a valid South African work permit.
Basic salary commensurate with qualifications, experience, and SANCCOB's remuneration model. A performance-based incentive structure.
