Job Description

SAE Institute is looking for a passionate and qualified Animator with a strong background in hand-drawn animation, fine arts and academics to teach and inspire young minds on our online platform.

Responsibilities:
  • Facilitation in accordance with the learning outcomes as set for the SAE Animation programme, with a focus on practical application, theoretical frameworks, workflow and technique.
  • Mentor students, conduct consultations and facilitate learning opportunities.
  • Research relevant content in order to develop learning material and lesson plans.
  • Evaluation, moderation, invigilation and assessment of learning.
  • Keep accurate records of evidence (e.g. attendance, assessment results).
  • Possess outstanding communication, interpersonal skills, administration skills, be highly organized and possess good time management skills.
  • Collaborative and willing to work with fellow lecturers and the HOD to support students.
Requirements
  • Experience in the field of animation and/or fine arts of a minimum of 2 years.
  • Classroom management and workshop facilitation skills: A minimum of 2 years' recent experience in an academic or training environment is preferred.
  • Must be knowledgeable about traditional hand-drawn animation.
  • Must be knowledgeable about fine arts practices (drawing, painting, sculpting).
  • Must be knowledgeable about art history.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and experience in the Adobe software suite, such as Photoshop, Illustrator and After Effects.
  • Must have a body of work that demonstrates competency in fine arts and animation.
