Overview

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Nursery Manager to oversee the production and management of their nursery operations. This role entails the supply, propagation and management of all soft fruit plants.


Responsibilities

  • Management of nursery operations, including propagation process and meeting daily targets.

  • Monitoring and maintaining optimal growing conditions, irrigation and husbandry.

  • Provide training and oversight to supervisors in nursery regarding job specification.

  • Implement and oversee the integration of new technologies to enhance productivity.

  • Coordinate with logistics to ensure timely and accurate dispatch of plants to customers.

  • Monitoring budget and resource allocation for nursery activities.

  • Ensuring compliance with legal requirements and safety standards.


The successful candidate will drive best practices in nursery management to ensure high-quality plant production while fostering a positive work environment.


Qualifications

  • •A Bachelor's degree in Horticulture or Agriculture.

  • •At least 3 years' experience in a commercial nursery and or an intensive substrate propagation facility.

  • •Knowledge or experience in tissue culture production would be beneficial.

  • •Must have a passion for growing with high attention to detail.

  • •Proven ability to work under pressure.

  • •Outstanding organisational skills.

  • •Computer literacy is essential with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages.

  • •Previous exposure to the management of a substantial workforce will be beneficial.

  • •Exillent communication skills is a requirement.

  • •A system driven procedural approach by nature will be beneficial to the candidate.

  • •Driving licence & own transport to get to work.
