Working Hours: 6 Week Summer Externship 216 total hours 3, 12-hour shifts per week

Summary

A nursing student who has completed two semesters (medical surgical rotations) in an accredited school of nursing. Observes and shadows a registered nurse performing direct patient care. Excellent human interaction skills are necessary along with excellent communication skills with the patient, family, and healthcare team.

Other information

CPR certified. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or greater or a C and above. Must complete 6 weeks (216 hours - June-August). Completes and submits required documentation. Good organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) and do so consistently. Ability to collaborate with the healthcare team effectively.
