Is God calling you to use your creative gifts in communication to raise mission awareness and inspire the next generation of missionaries across Africa?

This missionary will join the regional missions team to cast vision, tell stories, and build awareness of God's work through cross-cultural ministry across the Africa Region. Through strategic content creation and multi channel communications, this role will inspire individuals to respond to God's call, equip local churches to become sending communities, and celebrate the transformational impact of missions work throughout Africa.

The Missions Communications Specialist works collaboratively with regional leadership, including the Regional NMI Coordinator, Regional Personnel Coordinator, Regional Mobilization Coordinator, Regional Communications Coordinator and The Cause Facilitator, to ensure consistent, impactful messaging that mobilizes the Church for missions.

Responsibilities
  • Develop engaging written, visual, and video content, including missionary stories, graphics, promotional videos, podcasts, and social media posts
  • Manage mission focused social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, YouTube) and create content calendars aligned with mobilization campaigns
  • Write articles, blog posts, and newsletter content for
  • Design promotional materials and resources for mission events and mobilization activities
  • Execute annual communications plan in collaboration with regional leadership, coordinating messaging across digital and traditional media platforms
Requirements
  • A committed member of the Church of the Nazarene with a heart for missions
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to communicate inspirationally
  • Proficiency in graphic design tools (Adobe, Canva) and video editing
  • Experience in content creation, digital marketing, or communications
  • Highly adaptable with the ability to develop multi channel strategies, including traditional media (print, radio) and low bandwidth solutions for areas with limited internet connectivity
  • Self motivated with strong organizational skills
  • Multilingual abilities (English, French, and/or Portuguese) are highly desirable
