Merchandiser

A leading client in the Retail sector based in Durban is seeking for a motivated and reliable Merchandiser to join their team. The ideal candidate must have hands-on experience working either in Perishable, Fruit & Veg, Warehouse Receiving and Floor Merchandising departments within a retail environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring shelves are properly stocked, products are displayed according to company standards, and stock is managed efficiently to support store operations and customer satisfaction.

• Merchandise products according to store and company standards
• Maintain well-organized and visually appealing product displays
• Ensure shelves are fully stocked and correctly labelled
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages to supervisors
• Rotate stock to ensure freshness, especially in Perishable and Fruit & Veg departments.
• Assist with warehouse receiving, including checking deliveries and unpacking stock
• Ensure correct stock placement on the shop floor
• Conduct stock checks and report any discrepancies
• Maintain cleanliness and organization in merchandising areas
• 2-3 years' experience as a Merchandiser in the Retail sector
• Experience working in the following departments:
  
  • Perishable
  • Fruit & Vegetables
  • Warehouse Receiving
  • Floor Merchandising
• Grade 12 / Matric
• Good understanding of merchandising and stock rotation (FIFO)
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment
• Physically fit and able to lift stock when required.
