Job Description

The ADvTECH Schools Division leads the private sector in the field of education, contributing meaningfully towards the sustainable development of human capacity in South Africa.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the media centre is neat and organised at all times
  • Control the organisation and management of library books
  • Control stock levels of media centre resources and books
  • Control the use of library books by pupils
  • Ensure that library books are covered and kept in good condition, including the repair of books
  • Ensure the safe storage and usage of media centre computers
  • Control the use of media centre computers by pupils
  • Resource and budget for media centre purchases
  • Assist students with finding resources, and the appropriate use of library books
  • Promotes the use of the school media centre and library
  • Work in conjunction with school leadership and language departments to promote reading
  • Assists with management and covering of school textbooks.
Competencies/Skills/Requirements
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with colleagues and pupils
  • Energetic, self-motivated and able to use own initiative;
  • Good organisational and administrative skills;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with staff and pupils
Qualifications

Minimum requirement is a grade 12

Experience

Working in a media centre/library as well as experience in a school environment
