Role Overview

The Marketing & Brand Manager is responsible for leading the strategic development and execution of all brand and marketing initiatives. This role focuses on driving brand consistency, campaign effectiveness, and cross functional collaboration while working closely with Chané, the Marketing Operations Lead, who manages technical marketing functions for seamless execution.

This position plays a key role in aligning marketing activities with business objectives, enhancing brand presence, and delivering impactful campaigns, events, and partnerships.

Key Responsibilities 1. Brand Strategy & Development
  • Lead the development and execution of brand strategy and positioning
  • Ensure consistency of corporate identity (CI) across all platforms and materials
  • Oversee the creation and alignment of branding elements and guidelines
2. Campaign & Marketing Management
  • Plan, manage, and execute integrated marketing campaigns
  • Develop creative strategies for campaigns and brand initiatives
  • Coordinate implementation of marketing activities in collaboration with internal stakeholders
3. Social Media & Content Oversight
  • Manage and oversee social media platforms and performance
  • Design and develop social media and marketing materials aligned with brand identity
  • Ensure content aligns with overall brand messaging and campaign goals
4. Events, Sponsorships & Activations
  • Lead the strategy and execution of brand events and activations
  • Coordinate DHL Stormers sponsorship deliverables and rights execution
  • Manage relationships with vendors, suppliers, and event partners
  • Manage and coordinate event logistics, planning, and execution
5. Budget Management & Reporting
  • Manage marketing budgets, including MDF (Market Development Fund) claims
  • Track and report on campaign performance, ROI, and key marketing metrics
  • Provide regular insights and analytics to inform decision making and insights reporting
6. Cross Functional Collaboration
  • Act as a key liaison between marketing and other departments
  • Drive internal engagement and alignment on marketing initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with team to ensure seamless execution of campaigns

This role works in close partnership with a Marketing Operations Lead who is responsible for:

The Marketing & Brand Manager focuses on strategy, creative direction, and execution, while the Marketing Operations Lead ensures technical enablement and performance optimisation. Together, these roles form a collaborative marketing function that balances creativity with data driven execution.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in marketing, brand management, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of brand development and campaign strategy
  • Experience with social media management and content creation
  • Basic design skills (e.g., Canva or similar tools)
  • Experience in event planning and coordination
  • Strong project management and organisational skills
  • Ability to analyse data and generate actionable insights
  • Excellent communication
