Job Description

Responsibilities
  • To diagnose problems and repair diesel engines and ancillary equipment
  • To apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests, to ensure the systems are working properly, following up to repairs
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • Mechanical Fitter / Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic
  • A minimum of 5 years' experience
  • Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate
  • Must have large diesel engine overhaul experience
  • Ability and acumen to work independently
  • Strong mechanical background
  • A strong knowledge and strong commitment to Health and Safety processes
  • Sound communication skills
Personal Attributes and Requirements
  • A team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude within the team
  • A can-do attitude
  • Be proactive and flexible, willing to work long hours
  • Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels
  • Sober habits and punctual
  • Clear criminal record
