Job Description
Responsibilities 
- To diagnose problems and repair diesel engines and ancillary equipment
- To apply troubleshooting methods, replace parts and run tests, to ensure the systems are working properly, following up to repairs
- Mechanical Fitter / Diesel Fitter / Diesel Mechanic
- A minimum of 5 years' experience
- Must be qualified with a valid trade test certificate
- Must have large diesel engine overhaul experience
- Ability and acumen to work independently
- Strong mechanical background
- A strong knowledge and strong commitment to Health and Safety processes
- Sound communication skills
- A team player and ability to maintain a positive attitude within the team
- A can-do attitude
- Be proactive and flexible, willing to work long hours
- Medically fit to work on board fishing vessels
- Sober habits and punctual
- Clear criminal record
