Managing Director

We are seeking an experienced Managing Director for overseeing the daily operations of the company, driving strategic initiatives, enhancing operational performance, and ensuring profitability. The role requires aligning business objectives with organisational goals and leading teams to deliver outstanding results with a strong understanding of the wool sector and global export regulations.

• Bachelor's degree in Agribusiness, Agricultural Economics and International Trade
• MBA or relevant postgraduate business qualification will be advantageous
• 7-10 years leadership experience in a managerial or executive role

• In-depth knowledge of the South African wool industry, including wool markets, Cape Wools SA standards and export procedures
• Strong financial, analytical, operational acumen
• Proven track record in strategic planning and execution
• Excellent communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross-functional teams
• Strategic thinking, execution, effective decision making and problem-solving skills
• Knowledge of global market intelligence, risk management in wool trading, export logistics, trade compliance and customs documentation

• Develop and implement business strategies aligned with the company's mission and vision and lead multidisciplinary teams
• Refine marketing strategies to grow market share and visibility
• Oversee budgeting, financial reporting and operational performance tracking
• Ensure adherence to all legal, regulatory and industry standards
• Identify new export opportunities and contribute to long-term strategic growth
