Manager Product Industrialisation
Job Description
Our client is seeking a Product Industrialisation Manager to own the end to end industrialisation of products across the full product lifecycle, ensuring that product designs are translated into efficient, scalable, and sustainable production solutions. The role is responsible for leading the definition and implementation of production and maintenance processes, as well as the establishment, commissioning, and handover of manufacturing facilities to Operations. The incumbent will develop and present industrialisation strategies for both existing and new products, providing structured input into planning, costing, and budgeting. They will also support decision making related to new business opportunities and the transfer of production to external partners. In addition, the role drives automation and digitalisation initiatives within production systems to ensure manufacturing remains competitive, efficient, and aligned with overall business objectives.
Responsibilities- Strong background in Opto Electro Mechanical product design and development
- Solid understanding of system acquisition and product life cycle principles within a business environment
- Well versed in general and engineering management principles and practices
- Minimum 8 years' experience (preferably 10+ years) in:
- Design for Manufacture and Assembly (DFMA / DFMAS)
- Design and process optimisation
- Manufacturing technologies
- Supplier development
- Proven understanding of the end to end supply value chain, from front end business engagement through to shipping, with a strong focus on product life cycle management
- Strong knowledge of system acquisition and life cycle frameworks, with the ability to tailor them to business needs
- Proven experience in DFMA/DFMAS, including application of tools, techniques, and design optimisation
- Strong grounding in general and engineering management principles and processes
- Experience with production aid documentation and MBL/SBL baseline definition
- Familiarity with Boothroyd Dewhurst DFMA methodology, LEAN principles, and industry best practices
- Solid understanding of concurrent engineering, product development processes, and formal review gates
- Ability to translate product life cycle requirements into practical industrialisation solutions
- Familiarity with a wide range of manufacturing, assembly, and quality control techniques
- Minimum BEng (Mechanical or Industrial), BEng (Hons), BEng Management or similar qualification.
