An exciting vacancy exists at Cape Town International Airport for an experienced Manager Procurement within the Supply Chain Management Division.

Key Performance Output

The successful candidate will be reporting to Group Manager Procurement and will be responsible but not limited to the following:

  • Implement approved Demand Planning and Forecasting strategy.
  • Implement cost saving initiatives.
  • Evaluate the RFX in line with signed-off commodity strategy.
  • Develop commercial RFX documents and ensure sign-off from Cross-Functional Sourcing Team (CFST).
  • Monitor, evaluate and report supplier performance in conjunction with the project owner.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, procedures and applicable prescripts.
  • Ensure adherence to approved legislation and transformation imperatives.
  • Manage disposal process and ensure adherence to policies and procedures.
  • Build, support and maintain healthy, diverse internal and external relationships to ensure achievement of organisational goals.
  • Provide input into, manage and monitor Departmental and Functional budgets.
  • Manage acquisition process for projects within delegated levels.
  • Compile, submit and present various reports.
  • Provide input into workforce planning and implement approved labour plans to ensure team is suitably staffed to meet sub-functional objectives.
  • Manage people development initiatives and people development processes such as performance management, succession planning and talent management to meet functional performance standards.
  • Lead the negotiation process.
  • Implement and monitor socio-economic development imperatives.
  • Implement BBBEE strategies to ensure required targets are met.
  • Integrate small black businesses within the supplier base.

Technical Skills and Experience

The following skills and experience or the equivalent of such will be required:

  • Bachelor's degree (NQF 7) in Supply Chain Management/Public Procurement/Logistics/Finance/Business Management/Business Administration is essential.
  • Bachelor's Degree (Honours) (NQF 8) in Supply Chain Management/Public Procurement/Logistics/ is recommended.
  • 5 years' relevant operational experience is essential.
  • 2 years' relevant Management experience is essential.
