Maintenance Assistant

We are looking for a Maintenance Assistant (M/F) based in South Africa to provide ongoing maintenance support, enabling a safe, efficient, and functional working environment.

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing maintenance support to enable a safe, efficient and functional working environment.

Minimum Qualification
  • Grade 12
  • 2-3 years' experience in maintenance or a related field
  • Basic knowledge of safety regulations and ISO standards
Preferred Qualification
  • Technical or vocational training in one or more maintenance-related fields
  • Additional certifications in plumbing, painting, or other relevant areas would be advantageous
Technical Pre-requisite
  • Good understanding of general maintenance tasks and techniques, e.g., painting, carpentry, and repairs
  • Understanding of basic plumbing systems and ability to perform minor plumbing repairs or maintenance tasks
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and ISO standards to ensure compliance and promote a safe working environment
  • Code B driver's licence for tasks such as transporting materials or equipment would be advantageous
  • Basic proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word)
  • Able to lift heavy objects and perform other labour-intensive tasks
Competency Pre-requisite
  • Able to notice and address small maintenance issues and ensure tasks are completed accurately and thoroughly
  • Prioritises tasks, manages time effectively, and coordinates maintenance activities to ensure efficiency and meet deadlines
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills to convey maintenance needs, collaborate with team members, and coordinate with stakeholders
  • Able to work collaboratively with colleagues, assist team members as needed, and contribute to a positive and productive work environment
  • Results oriented with a focus on achieving maintenance objectives, addressing defects promptly, and ensuring the quality and completeness of maintenance tasks
  • Learning agility (open to feedback and motivated to learn)
