Machine Operator (Liquids)

We currently have the above position available at our flexible packaging wine bag department and wish to invite all suitably qualified applicants to submit their details for our consideration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

• Taking over the machine from the previous shift and ensuring an effective handover process.
• Setting up and operating the machine in accordance with the relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Running the machine to the required quality and production output standards.
• Producing all bag sizes and quantities according to the works ticket specifications.
• Completing line clearance procedures on completed jobs.
• Facilitating changeovers in line with the production plan.
• Ensuring that the correct materials are available and verified against job specifications prior to production.
• Ensuring reels are pre-positioned behind machines for efficient production flow.
• Supervising and coordinating Packers during the shift in accordance with operational requirements.
• Maintaining a high standard of housekeeping and safety on and around the machine.
• Completing all production and administrative documentation accurately and timeously.
• Conducting an effective handover to the incoming shift.
• Escalating operational, quality, or safety concerns to the Production Manager where required.

• Grade 12 / Matric certificate.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience as a Packer within a manufacturing or packaging environment.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Problem-solving, planning, and organisational skills.
• Sound numeracy and literacy skills.
• Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Knowledge and understanding of BRC standards and requirements.
