Role Overview

An established private wealth business is seeking anexperienced and results-driven M&A Manager to drive growth throughthe identification, development and execution of strategic merger andacquisition opportunities within the Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) andbroker market.

This role is focused on expanding Assets Under Management(AUM) through the successful sourcing and closing of M&A transactions. TheM&A Manager will be responsible for building strong relationships withinthe intermediary market, identifying suitable merger partners, and managing thefull acquisition lifecycle through to deal signature and structured handover.

The ideal candidate is a commercially astute businessdevelopment professional with a proven track record in sales, acquisitions, ordistribution within financial services. Success in this role requires strongnegotiation capability, relationship-building expertise, and the ability tooperate in a high-performance, target-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify,engage and develop merger and acquisition opportunities within anallocated geographic region.
  • Buildand maintain strong relationships with IFAs and brokers to sourcepotential merger partners.
  • Conductactive prospecting, networking and PR activities to attract newacquisition opportunities.
  • Leadnegotiations and close M&A transactions aligned to strategic growthobjectives.
  • Ensurea structured and professional handover of signed merger partners to therelevant Regional Manager for implementation.
  • Maintainawareness of competitor activity, regulatory developments and markettrends that may influence acquisition strategy.
  • Consistentlyachieve agreed acquisition and performance targets.
Requirements Qualifications
  • Recognisedtertiary qualification in Finance, Commerce or related field (e.g., BCom,BBusSc, Wealth or Investment Management qualification).
Experience
  • Minimum5+ years' experience in sales, acquisition, distribution or businessdevelopment.
  • Provenand verifiable track record of achieving targets in a high-performanceenvironment.
  • Experiencewithin financial services, particularly private wealth, is highlyadvantageous.
  • Exposureto the Independent Financial Advisor (IFA) and broker landscape.
  • Strongunderstanding of the financial services industry, including regulatory andcompliance frameworks.
  • Soundknowledge of market trends and competitive positioning within wealthmanagement.
  • Advancedrelationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Strongcommercial acumen and closing capability.
  • Technologicallyproficient and comfortable using CRM and digital tools.
  • Highlyorganised, self-driven and accountable.
