LearnEX: 2026 Learnerships Now Open
Job Description
Finding a way into the South African job market can be difficult without the right combination of skills and experience. LearnEX is currently addressing this challenge by opening applications for their 2026 learnership programs.
These opportunities are specifically designed for unemployed South Africans who have completed their Matric and are looking to gain a national qualification while working.
A learnership is a unique opportunity because it allows you to learn the theory of a job while actually doing the work. This "earn while you learn" model provides a monthly stipend to cover your basic costs, such as transport, while you spend 12 months building a professional profile.
Available Learnership Streams for 2026LearnEX has categorized their programs into specific streams to help you choose a path that fits your interests. Each stream is registered with the relevant SETA and offers a specific NQF level.
- ICT Stream (Technical Support NQF 4) This stream is perfect for tech-heavy individuals. You will learn how to maintain computer systems, troubleshoot hardware issues, and provide technical assistance in a professional environment.
- Office Administration Stream (Business Administration NQF 3 & 4) If you are organized and enjoy office work, this stream covers the essentials of business operations. You can enter at Level 3 or Level 4, depending on your current background.
- Project Management Stream (Project Management NQF 4) Project management is a high-demand skill. This program teaches you how to coordinate tasks, manage timelines, and ensure that business projects are completed successfully.
- Supervisory and Management Stream (Generic Management NQF 4) For those who want to lead teams, this stream focuses on the fundamentals of management. It is designed to turn entry-level workers into capable supervisors.
A major benefit of the LearnEX program is the focus on Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). Many people in South Africa have years of experience working in shops, offices, or volunteering in their communities, but they don't have a certificate to prove it.
RPL is a process where LearnEX looks at your past work and life experience. If you can prove you already know the work, that experience can be acknowledged as part of your qualification. This makes it easier for experienced but uncertified individuals to get the formal recognition they deserve.
