Job Description

A vacancy exists for a permanent on-demand Laundry Assistant at Life East London Laundry to maintain and supply clean linen to all the Life Healthcare hospitals in East London. The successful candidates will report to Dalubuhle Sigabi, Laundry Manager.

Critical Outputs
  • Counting and sorting of dirty linen
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Processing of all linen in designated areas
  • Quality and stock management
  • Operating of industrial laundry equipment
  • Liaison with management
  • Good housekeeping
  • Maintaining health and safety regulations
  • Waste disposal management
Requirements
  • Grade 12 certificate or equivalent
  • Understand, speak, read and write English
  • Able to work flexible hours and available on request as determined by business operations
  • Able to maintain accuracy on figures recorded
  • Work under stressful conditions
  • Neat appearance and personal hygiene
