Job Description

Our client within the Agricultural Sector (Animal Production) is looking to appoint a Laboratory Manager for their branch in Bloemfontein. Excellent opportunity in a world class facility.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Agriculture, Animal Science, Genetics or Agribusiness
  • At least 7 years relevant experience in commercial livestock and bovine genetics operations
  • Proven experience in artificial insemination (AI), embryo transfer (ET), and / or IVF Technologies
  • Strong knowledge of cattle genetics, breeding values and performance recording systems
  • Demonstrated experience in managing large teams and multi-functional agricultural operations
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans
  • Valid drivers license
  • Lead and manage all station and laboratory operations, ensuring efficiency and high production standards
  • Oversee and implement genetic improvement and breeding programmes
  • Ensure optimal herd health, nutrition and biosecurity compliance
  • Manage budgets, financial planning and operational expenditure
  • Supervise, develop and lead multi-disciplinary teams
  • Oversee laboratory production processes, quality control and reporting
  • Manage client relationships, stakeholder engagement and industry representation
  • Ensure compliance with local and international standards and regulations
