Job Description

Overview

This position works as a Field Engineer in our Kemin Application Systems Department and will be responsible for installing and commissioning application solutions for Kemin products at feed mills, processing facilities, and farm level. The Field Technician also supports user training, health and safety compliance, and calibration services. The position offers opportunities to develop new application areas and to collaborate closely with global application engineering teams.

Responsibilities
  • Manage the installation and commissioning of liquid product application systems from customer request through to delivery. This includes site surveying, project coordination, implementation, and after-sales support.
  • Support Sales with field trials and application surveys, including structured handover of findings to the technology production team.
  • Attend on-site customer meetings as requested to support project delivery and relationship management.
  • Coordinate project related communication and documentation for new installations and upgrades.
  • Prepare systems and components remotely for field deployment in coordination with the technology production team.
  • Lead and support equipment installation and commissioning activities, including operator training and handover.
  • Complete quarterly system inspection and verification visits with customers.
  • Provide day to day technical support to customers, including troubleshooting and guidance.
  • Conduct on site preventive and corrective maintenance, including calibration checks, in accordance with required standards.
  • Support program efficiency through sampling, data capture, and reporting where required.
  • Provide on site support during emergency situations to restore system functionality and minimize downtime.
Qualifications
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years' Mechanical and pneumatic experience (pumps, valves, motors).
  • Minimum 3 years' Project Management experience within Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Technical Sales Environments.
  • Relevant field service or application engineering experience (advantageous).
  • Exposure to ISO 9001, GMP, and/or FAMI QS standards (advantageous).
  • Valid driver's license.
Required Skills
  • Experience with PLC and SCADA systems; ability to read, interpret electrical drawings.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings in line with functional specifications.
  • Strong understanding of electrical and mechanical system integration, with the ability to troubleshoot against functional specifications.
  • Identify and recommend improved components or solutions for new installations and upgrades to existing systems.
  • Develop and execute maintenance schedules in close collaboration with Sales team.
  • Strong time management skills, with the ability to plan and execute concurrent tasks effectively.
  • Identify and report competitor activities and relevant market insights.
  • Hands on approach with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to interact professionally with customers and colleagues.
  • Flexible, diligent, and collaborative, with strong self motivation and initiative.
  • Proficient in standard business and technical computer applications.
  • Experience producing clear technical and service reports.
