Junior Social Worker

• Conduct home visits to assess living conditions, evaluate family dynamics, and identify potential risks or needs within the home environment.
• Provide counseling/therapy sessions to participants referred from various studies for mental health and psychosocial matters such as domestic violence, sexual assault, child neglect, and suicide ideation.
• Case manage participants, including documentation and reporting of potential social harm.
• Debrief and participate in supervision meetings.
• Establish and maintain strategic relationships within AHRI departments and with the Hlabisa Sub district health and social welfare service providers to facilitate the smooth referral of social welfare cases.
• Support other relevant work related duties.

• Holds a Social Work degree.
• Valid driver's license and at least 1 year of driving experience.
• Computer literacy (MS Office - Word, Excel & PowerPoint).
• Fluency in speaking and writing IsiZulu and English.
• Registered under the South African Council for Social Service Professions (SACSSP).
• At least 5 years of experience in counseling/therapy intervention.
• Previous experience working in rural communities.
• Knowledge of GCP will be advantageous.
