Introduction

MANCOSA, a DHET registered and CHE accredited private higher education distance education provider, offering undergraduate and postgraduate business qualifications, has the following vacancy available: Junior Instructional Designer.

CORE PURPORSE:

  • To assist in the design, development, and implementation of engaging and effective learning solutions, contributing to the creation of high-quality instructional materials that meet the needs of learners and support organisational goals.
CORE FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

Instructional Design

  • Design and develop engaging instructional materials, including multimedia content and e-learning modules, under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Assist in testing and reviewing online courses to ensure functionality, usability, and a positive learner experience.
  • Create, edit, and produce educational videos using various software tools (such as Canva, Adobe Synthesia, or similar), ensuring content quality and alignment with learning objectives
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to gather content, clarify requirements, and ensure instructional accuracy.
  • Upload, organize, and maintain learning resources and course materials on the Moodle Learning Management System, ensuring accessibility and proper categorization.
  • Support the continuous improvement of instructional design processes by providing feedback and participating in team meetings and training sessions.

LMS Administration

  • Assist with LMS readiness tasks, ensuring the platform is prepared for new programme/module launches and semester transitions.
  • Perform administrative tasks within the LMS, such as user management, structure creation, and appropriate uploads.
  • Monitor system performance and identify potential issues requiring investigation or intervention.
  • Stay updated on new LMS features and functionalities and implement them as directed.

LMS Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in Moodle or other learning management systems, including content creation, course setup, and user management

Pedagogical Knowledge : Strong understanding of adult learning principles, active learning strategies, and assessment methods in higher education contexts.

Technology Skills: Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools, multimedia editing software, and other educational technologies to create interactive and engaging content.

Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders, including faculty, SMEs, and support teams.

Creativity: Demonstrated creativity in designing innovative and interactive learning experiences that motivate and inspire learners.

Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and commitment to delivering error-free, high-quality educational materials.

Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and address instructional design challenges effectively.

General :

  • Must be capable of working with visual and auditory input
