The Junior Reservations Consultant is responsible for processing FIT and small group enquiries from quotation to finalization, invoicing, and preparing travel documentation, whilst gaining the required knowledge and skills in the field of Inbound Travel.
Key Tasks include, but are not limited to:
- Assist with preparing travel quotations and itineraries.
- Load and update bookings accurately and promptly in the UDMS.
- Confirm bookings with suppliers (accommodation, transport, guides, activities, meet-and-greet, restaurants, special services).
- Manage release dates of services booked.
- Address account queries within set deadlines.
- Communicate professionally with suppliers to request availability, confirm rates and services, and obtain booking confirmation.
- Provide professional and timely communication with customers and respond to queries within the required turnaround time.
- Assist with issuing travel documentation, vouchers, and final itineraries.
- Assist with amendments, cancellations, and re-bookings.
- Support emergency or after-hours operational requirements when required.
- EDUCATION: Grade 12 essential. A related tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism is highly preferable.
- EXPERIENCE: Related experience in the Inbound Tourism, reservations, or tourism administration; exposure to reservations systems or travel booking platforms; relevant experience with the Japanese market will be highly beneficial.
- KNOWLEDGE: Basic knowledge of travel products, destinations, and logistics in South and Southern Africa.
- SKILLS: Computer and Systems Skills (UDMS, Microsoft Office/Word/Excel/Outlook/SharePoint; Strong administrative & organization; high attention to detail; good verbal and written communication skills; ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
