Are you an experienced network leader who thrives on accountability, operational excellence and delivering results in the field? Join our Networks team as a Junior Field Operations Manager in Vredendal, where you'll lead field operations teams to ensure high-quality infrastructure deployment, customer installations and ongoing network performance.

This role is ideal for a technically strong and commercially aware leader who can translate tactical goals into operational execution, build multi-skilled teams and take ownership of network performance from POP to customer premises.

What you'll do:
  • Take full responsibility for the physical network infrastructure within your assigned area, from POP to customer internal networks
  • Ensure correct deployment, health, maintenance and expansion of fibre and wireless infrastructure
  • Oversee installations and field support activities at customer premises
  • Manage contractors where applicable, ensuring execution aligns with Herotel standards
  • Convert business and tactical goals into structured monthly operational plans
  • Participate in Level 2 Value Chain MOS collaboration to resolve flow challenges
  • Develop and execute daily standardised operational plans
  • Ensure all required resources, tools, vehicles and safety measures are available
  • Measure execution performance via KPIs (SQSCT) and quality control protocols
  • Report on performance metrics, statistics and operational outcomes
  • Coach and develop technicians to become multi-skilled across fibre, wireless and customer premises work
  • Facilitate Level 1 MOS meetings and resolve operational triggers
  • Receive coaching from Senior FOM and align with Network & Commercial Managers
  • Uphold partnership agreements with customer and supplier teams
  • Drive operational excellence, safety compliance and quality standards across your team
  • Ensure alignment with other regions and functions
What you'll need:
  • Grade 12 qualification
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a telecommunications technical environment
  • Minimum 4 years' experience within Herotel
  • Deep understanding of Herotel's infrastructure and operational standards
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Ability to translate tactical goals into structured operational plans
  • Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage stress, conflict and high-pressure situations
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organisational and planning capability
  • Results-driven mindset with strong accountability
  • Ability to coach and transfer knowledge effectively
  • Valid driver's licence with travel required
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in a relevant field advantageous
