Overview

Junior Associate
Based In: Woodmead, Johannesburg

A growing boutique law firm based in Johannesburg. Islooking to appoint a Junior Associate who has recently completed articles and has 1 - 2 years post-admission experience. The successful candidate will work directly with the directors of the firm and will gain meaningful exposure to a broad range of commercial and litigation matters. This role is suited to someone who is passionate about the law, detail-oriented, and looking to grow with a small but ambitious firm.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drafting and reviewing commercial agreements, including loan agreements, security documents, commercial contracts and related transactional documentation
  • Drafting pleadings and court documents
  • Drafting letters
  • Conducting legal research and preparing memorandums where required
  • Managing and progressing matters under supervision
  • Assisting with the closure of the commercial transactions, including monitoring compliance
  • Attending court and sheriff's offices where necessary
  • Communicating with clients and maintaining professional relationships
  • Providing general legal support across the firm's matters
Minimum Requirements
  • 1-2 years post-admission experience (A qualified notary would be a big advantage)
  • Experience in commercial law
  • Strong legal drafting ability
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong organisational and matter management skills
  • Driver's licence and own vehicle
