Overview

Our client is seeking a Junior Accountant for their team in Port Elizabeth/Gqeberha.

Non-Negotiable Requirements
  • 3 years of prior experience in a workplace
  • 3-year Accounting degree or higher (e.g. BCom Accounting)
  • Valid driver's license
  • Computer literate
  • Articles completed
About / What you will need to know
  • Advanced MS Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP)
  • Understanding of Sage and Pastel accounting software
  • Strong administration skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Organisational skills
  • Strong analytical & problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Good verbal & written communication skills
  • Financial record keeping (reconciling financial transactions, general ledger entries & accuracy of trial balances)
  • Reporting (monthly, quarterly, annual financial statements)
  • Accounts payable & receivable
  • Compliance (VAT assistance, SARS submissions, ensuring compliance)
  • Payroll assistance
  • Bank reconciliation
  • Audit preparation
  • Inventory costing and support
  • Assisting the manager with other financial matters
Details
  • Office-based position only
  • 40 hour week (Monday - Friday)
  • Salary only, no benefits
  • Salary to be discussed and will be in line with experience and qualifications, as well as taking your current earnings into account.
