Job Description
Our client, an accounting firm, provides tax services to ensure clients remain compliant with SARS requirements while optimizing their tax positions.
The tax team plays a vital role in helping businesses navigate tax regulations and plan effectively.
As a Tax Intern, you will support the tax team by preparing tax returns, gathering and organizing financial data, and performing basic tax research under supervision.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing and filing tax returns.
- Support compliance processes for individuals and businesses.
- Conduct basic tax research and analysis.
- Maintain accurate financial and tax records.
- Assist with tax planning projects.
- Communicate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative and clerical support when required.

- Membership & Accreditations: None required
- Matric with strong results in Mathematics and Accounting.
- Completed Certificate/Diploma in Accounting or Taxation (or currently studying).
- Enrolled in/working towards a Bachelor's in Accounting or Taxation (preferred).
- 1-2 years of bookkeeping, accounting, or tax experience in a practice environment (preferred, not required).
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Accounting software (Xero - training provided).
- Tax software (Greatsoft - training provided).
- SARS eFiling (training provided).
- Document management systems (Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox).
- Practice management software (training provided).
- Strong numerical and analytical skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- Professional communication in Afrikaans & English (read, write, speak).
- Good problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Tech-savvy and eager to learn.
- Able to handle confidential financial information with discretion.
- Self-motivated and adaptable in a fast-paced environment.
- Works well in a team and with clients.
- Office-based role to ensure the best learning and mentorship environment.
- Occasional travel may be required.
- Continuous learning and professional development are essential.
