Job Description

Our client in the mining sector is looking for a Digital Lead: Systems Intelligence to support major mining and infrastructure projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving digital transformation, ensuring data integrity, and overseeing the governance of systems and platforms across the organization. This role requires a strong blend of technical expertise in data engineering and strategic leadership in digital systems, supporting projects from concept through execution and operational integration.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee business process development and system implementation to enhance operational efficiency and compliance.
  • Ensure data is reliable, clean, and structured to enable trusted decision-making and digital adoption.
  • Establish and enforce data governance frameworks, standards, and documentation practices.
  • Lead the design, rollout, and change management of digital initiatives across the business.
  • Drive innovation by embedding AI capabilities and advanced analytics into core processes.
  • Align local digital solutions with international best-of-breed systems and cloud governance practices.
  • Optimize digital infrastructure to improve scalability, reduce redundancy, and enhance cost efficiency.
  • Mentor and guide junior developers and data analysts, fostering a culture of innovation and digital literacy.
  • Manage stakeholder relationships, service providers, and compliance with SHE and risk management frameworks.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in data engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Post Graduate Diploma in Business (NQF Level 7 or higher).
  • 7+ years of experience in digital development and systems integration.
  • 7+ years in a Data Engineering or related technical role.
  • Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud governance, and AI enablement.
  • Experience working within EPCM or large engineering project environments.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Experience working on large mining or mineral processing facilities.
  • Experience with digital transformation in heavy industrial or engineering environments.
  • Exposure to global engineering consulting and multidisciplinary project delivery.
