Job Overview:

The IT Systems and Application Analyst is responsible for the analysis, maintenance, and optimization of business applications and IT systems across the organization. This role involves working closely with business users, IT teams, and vendors to ensure applications support business goals efficiently and securely. The analyst also plays a key role in system implementation, user support, data integration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will support and report to the Systems Manager, working closely with other members of the Technical Team and Business stakeholders to ensure the effective delivery of its overall aims and allocated program of work and responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze, maintain, and support enterprise applications, including ERPs, CRM, HR systems, and other business critical tools
  • Collaborate with users and stakeholders to gather and document system requirements and translate them into functional specifications
  • Monitor application performance, troubleshoot issues, and coordinate resolutions with internal teams or external vendors
  • Conduct system upgrades, patch management, and configuration changes with minimal disruption to business operations
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to systems, processes, and procedures
  • Assist in the implementation and rollout of new applications and systems, including testing, training, and support
  • Support data integrity, data migration, and integration between systems using APIs, ETL tools, or scripting
  • Ensure applications meet compliance, security, and performance standards
  • Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated helpdesk issues related to enterprise systems and applications
  • Day to day systems support and issue resolution
  • Configuration of proper systems access for the Group to optimize controls
  • Manage/support project teams to implement new and update existing systems
  • Test internal processes and procedures
  • Delivery of system training
  • Review the current systems/interfaces, forms and procedures and propose solutions to streamline and reduce manual intervention
  • Support the Systems Manager in ensuring that internal controls within the Group are fit for purpose and are enforced, measured and monitored and improved where applicable
  • Collaborate with Managers to design and develop both internal and external management reports to inform the business
  • Liaise with external stakeholders and system developers where necessary
Requirements
  • Degree in commerce/business/accounting or IT
  • 3+ years of experience in IT systems or application analysis/support
  • Experience with enterprise applications
  • Familiarity with databases (SQL), reporting tools, and integration tools
  • Systems development and application systems experience
  • Broad experience and knowledge of accounting systems
  • ERP system experience
  • Experience working in project and BAU environment

Skills:

  • Up to date knowledge of current trends and practices relating to IT Applications
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills demonstrating an ability to identify and react to emerging issues
  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to manage conflict and maintain good relationships with key stakeholders
  • Excellent standard of literacy and effective written communication skills
  • Scripting or programming experience an advantage
  • Ability to deal with a demanding workload which will include conflicting demands on time
