Overview

Our client is a purpose-driven SME investor that empowers entrepreneurs through customized financing solutions, mentorship, technical assistance, and accessible business premises. With a strong belief in the power of entrepreneurship, they are committed to building a world-class investment team that delivers real value to the SME sector. They are looking for an investment officer to join their investment team who will;

  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and strategic partnerships for the Company.
  • Organize and participate in networking events, conferences, and industry forums to establish and strengthen business networks.
  • Assess the financial health and potential risks of targeted companies through comprehensive due diligence.
  • Create detailed financial models, including revenue projections, cost analysis, risk assessment, and return calculations to guide investment decisions.
  • Draft comprehensive investment reports that communicate findings, risks, and potential returns to stakeholders.
  • Structure and negotiate viable financing solutions with targeted companies to optimize returns for the Company based on the associated risk.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the broader SME market.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of client portfolios.
  • Keep abreast of industry regulations, market dynamics, and economic trends to adapt investment strategies accordingly.
Requirements
  • A BCom degree in Accounting, Finance or other business-related field with minimal level of Financial Accounting 2 or equivalent.
  • 3 or more years of experience in business investment or a business finance-related role.
  • Experience in auditing, banking, financial accounting and/or sales and marketing will be advantageous.
  • The individual needs to possess the ability to build and maintain relationships, have strong negotiation skills, results focused, analytical with a strong financial background.
