MMS is seeking to employ a qualified and experienced Intrapreneur/Innovation Lead. The successful candidate will join a dynamic and highly skilled Innovation Team.
The successful candidate will report directly to the Innovation Manager.
Role PurposeThe mission of this role is to identify, test, extract evidence, build & prove scalability of new business opportunities through disciplined experimentation.
This role acts as an internal intrapreneur:
- Identifying high value opportunity or challenge areas from BU Exco feedback analysis
- Translating them into testable business concepts
- Designing & run fast, evidence-based experiments
- Taking validated opportunities through Discovery, Validation, and Scale, with a seamless hand-over to Commercialisation teams in the BU's
This is a hands-on role. You will co-create, test, analyse, decide, build, scale and hand over to business
Key Responsibilities- Opportunity & Problem Identification
- Identify high-value opportunity spaces or business challenges from BU Exco strategic priorities
- Frame opportunities as clear, testable problem statements and hypotheses
- Obtain BU sponsorship & buy-in (resourcing & funding)
- Discovery & Experiment Design (per initiative)
- Discovery:
- Analyse the current state of the opportunity, including existing data analyses, gaps & unvalidated assumptions
- Work with BU to resource (team, capacity, SME) the initiative
- Experimentation Plan Design:
- Define experimentation plan at the hand of the initiative maturity ( ie which phase - desirability, validation, scale)
- Discovery:
- Experiment Facilitation & Execution (per initiative)
- Run and facilitate experiments across multiple teams and concepts in parallel
- Adapt experiments/tools to the maturity of the concept. (ie survey vs MVP)
- Maintain momentum while preventing over-engineering or premature scaling
- Ensure experiments produce evidence, not just insights or opinions
- Decision-Making & Progress
- Lead concepts through clear decision gates with BU sponsor
- Ensure concepts move through phases only once validated
- Actively retire concepts that are not progressing
- Scale Readiness & Handover
- Support validated concepts through scaling experiments (in the real world)
- Work closely with commercial, operational, data, and technology teams to prepare for handover
- Ensure a structured transition to Commercialisation, including:
- Evidence pack
- Key learnings
- Embedded systems & processes
- Clear roadmap for next phases
- Clear ownership post-handover
- Reporting & Measurement
- Track and report on:
- Experiment progress
- Learnings and decisions
- Pipeline health (Discovery / Validation / Scale)
- Provide early warning on stalled or low-signal projects
- Work with data to update ROIC / value hypotheses as evidence evolves
- Contribute to building an organisational memory of what worked, what didn't, and why
- Track and report on:
- What Success Looks Like
- High-value opportunities are identified and tested quickly
- Teams move from opinions to evidence
- Fewer big-bet failures, more small-bet learnings
- Data analysis and facilitation of data driven decision making at operational and executive level
- Validated opportunities transition smoothly into Commercialisation
- 5+ years' experience specifically relating to testing new approaches, products, concepts
- Proven track record of taking ideas from problem framing through to validation and scale
- Experience working inside complex corporates, with teams balancing innovation alongside day-to-day roles
- Extensive project management experience, preferably cross-functional
- Mastery of Testing Business Ideas - the Scientific Method preference
- Comfortable operating with ambiguity and incomplete data
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders
- Advanced written and presentation skills
- Ability to work with extensive data to extract meaningful insights
- Naturally curious and opportunity obsessed

- 8+ years of working experience in automotive industry
- Demonstrable portfolio of prior ventures, or innovation programs participation is essential
- Digital Marketing experience preferred
