Instructional Designer - Johannesburg, South Africa

Department: Talent Development
Employment Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday-Friday (between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM PST)
Location: Johannesburg, South Africa

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designerto join our Talent Development team. This role is responsible for designing, developing, and updating training programs for leaders and employees across the organization through our LMS platforms. The ideal candidate is creative, analytical, and passionate about building impactful learning experiences that improve performance and productivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct Training Needs Analysis to identify learning gaps.
  • Design learning paths and training programs aligned with employee development needs.
  • Develop high quality training materials including manuals, guides, presentations, and multimedia resources.
  • Create engaging content tailored to different learning styles and proficiency levels.
  • Build interactive and self-paced e learning courses using LMS platforms.
  • Integrate multimedia solutions to strengthen knowledge retention.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
  • Implement assessments to measure training effectiveness.
  • Stay up to date with industry's best practices and modern instructional design trends.
  • Facilitate in person and virtual training sessions as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in education, Instructional Design, or related field (required).
  • Strong computer skills and advanced MS Office proficiency (required).
  • Previous experience designing and developing training programs (required).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with e learning authoring tools (Articulate, Captivate, etc.).
  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to work with cross functional teams.
  • Ability to present clear and effective information (mandatory)
  • Knowledge in models: ADDIE, ASSURE, Bloom's, Taxonomy, NEKO, related (desirable).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certification in e learning course design.
  • Project Management certification.
Other Requirements
  • Availability to work weekends, travel occasionally, and work remotely as needed.
  • Ability to work in an office environment, spending extended periods at a computer workstation.
