Immaculata High School is a vibrant, independent Catholic high school situated in Diep Kloof, Soweto, and operates under the auspices of the Catholic Archdiocese of Johannesburg. This school is known for its Catholic ethos, high academic standard, and holistic development of each learner.
About the roleDue to the retirement of the Principal, the Administrator needs to appoint a suitable successor, commencing as soon as possible or 1 July 2026.
The ideal candidate should preferably be a practising Catholic with the willingness and capacity to sustain and develop the Catholic ethos, have a warm, outgoing personality, sound leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff, learners, and parents with a genuine passion for education.
Key Performance Areas- Actively support, model and promote the Catholic Ethos of the school
- Provide innovative leadership, guidance and support to all staff
- Motivate and assist key staff in designing and consistently developing the curriculum which fulfils all CAPS requirements while incorporating the school's core values
- Critically evaluate academic progress and implement interventions
- Use essential organisational skills in all areas
- Initiate and support staff development
- Monitor the quality of teaching and learning to ensure that it is child centred, relevant and fully reflective of the school's core values
- Manage the school's budget and day to day finances with the assistance of the Bursar and CIE Financial Services
- Use excellent interpersonal and communication skills in interactions with all stakeholders
- Commit to ongoing personal and professional development to enhance the leadership of the school
- Ability to deal effectively with the challenges and changes facing independent schools and education in this country
- Recognised four year teaching qualification which includes an academic degree
- At least 7 years high school teaching experience
- Successful track record of management in a Catholic independent school
- Current driver's licence
- Excellent computer skills
- Registration with SACE
