Job Description

Property24 is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner (HRBP) to act as a strategic ally to our Cape Town teams. In this role, you will work collaboratively across HR and the business to set a people agenda aligned with organizational goals. You will serve as a trusted advisor to local leadership, leveraging your business acumen to coach, counsel, and influence the workforce planning needed to achieve results.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Strategic Talent Acquisition & Recruitment
  • Lead the end-to-end recruitment lifecycle for specialized roles, with a strong focus on Software Development, Engineering, Business Analysis (BA), and Sales.
  • Partner closely with the South African Recruitment Officer to build diverse talent pools and ensure a high-quality candidate experience.
  • Collaborate with managers to develop acquisition and retention strategies that attract top-tier talent in the South African market.
  • Support the onboarding of new employees, providing vital information on local labor market norms and culture.
  • Local & Global HR Collaboration
  • Work in close alignment with the Head of HR and Senior HRBP to implement the broader South African people strategy.
  • Contribute to Global HR initiatives by providing local insights and feedback to ensure global programs meet Property24's specific needs.
  • Partner with the Global HR function to effectively translate and implement group-wide programs and processes locally.
  • Identify talent development needs and partner with the Talent Development team to create value-added solutions.
  • People Agenda & Business Partnership
  • Build and maintain partnerships with local leadership to create a data-driven People Agenda that fosters high employee engagement.
  • Understand the business unit's specific goals and challenges and align HR strategies accordingly.
  • Advise leaders on growth strategies to ensure the retention and development of high-potential employees.
  • Culture, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Act as a steward of company values and promote a culture of inclusion and belonging.
  • Ensure that talent management strategies are inclusive of the diverse cultural and economic backgrounds present in South Africa.
  • Facilitate employee engagement action planning based on survey results to increase satisfaction and productivity.
  • Employee Relations & Compliance
  • Partner with leaders to address and resolve complex employee relations issues, including conflict resolution and disciplinary actions.
  • Ensure full compliance with South African labor legislation and regional variations.
  • Drive and support B-BBEE initiatives within the specific economic context of the business unit.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
  • Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Ability to identify patterns in data and turn information into action.
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of the core OLX and Property24 business models to develop a robust people agenda.
  • Employment Law: Thorough understanding of compliance and legal requirements based on local labor laws.
  • Collaboration: Able to foster and maintain formal and informal relationships across the SA local team and Global HR network.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Experience: At least 5 years of experience in an HR Business Partner or similar role.
  • Industry Focus: Proven experience recruiting for technical (Dev/Eng) and Sales environments is essential.
  • Work Arrangement: Hybrid model requiring 4 days in the Cape Town office and 1 day remote.
