Position Overview:

As a Housekeeper at Banana Moon Hatton Day Nursery, you will play an essential role in ensuring a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for children, staff, and families. Your dedication to cleanliness and hygiene will contribute significantly to maintaining a nurturing space where children can thrive. We are looking for 16 hours per week, flexible to suit you as well as us.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Keep all nursery areas, including main rooms and common areas, clean and tidy.
  • Ensure high standards of hygiene in washrooms and nappy changing areas are consistently upheld.
  • Perform laundry duties, including washing and managing bedding and children's clothing as required.
  • Assist with meal preparation and cleaning of dishes and kitchen areas during meal times.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and report when replenishments are needed.
  • Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe environment for children and staff.
  • Collaborate with nursery staff to support the overall functioning and cleanliness of the nursery.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Previous experience in a housekeeping or cleaning role, ideally within a childcare or educational setting.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations related to cleaning (knowledge of COSHH is a plus).
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Must have a clear enchanced DBS check and enrol onto the DBS Update Service.
