Job Description

East-London Area - Eastern Cape: This is a leading horticultural farm dedicated to sustainable agriculture and high-quality plant production. They are seeking a dynamic and experienced Horticultural Farm Manager to lead their operations, oversee plant cultivation, and manage their team effectively.

Minimum Requirements
  • 5 years' hands on experience in growing plants, preferably in a horticultural or agricultural setting.
  • At least 6 years of experience working with labour in South Africa, with a strong understanding of local labour dynamics and regulations.
  • Fluency in Xhosa is essential for effective communication with team members.
  • Excellent operational and organisational skills, with a proven track record of managing complex farm activities.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily farm operations, including planting, cultivation, harvesting, and maintenance of horticultural crops.
  • Manage and supervise farm labour teams, ensuring compliance with South African labour laws and promoting a positive work environment.
  • Implement efficient organisational strategies to optimise production, resource allocation and workflow.
  • Handle operational challenges and high pressure situations with composure and strategic decision making.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to maintain high standards of quality and sustainability.
