Job Description
Situated in Sandton, St David's is a Marist, Catholic, Independent School for boys of all faiths.
We cater for boys from Grade 000 to Grade 12 and offer weekly boarding in the College.
Established in 1941, St David's Marist Inanda forms part of the international Marist educational community which has at its core a strong value base, primarily focused on "Humility, Simplicity and Modesty" as espoused by our founder St Marcellin Champagnat in 1816. With the impending retirement of the incumbent and to cater for ongoing growth, St David's Marist Inanda seeks to appoint a dynamic experienced Educator in the following position:
COLLEGE- Head of Subject / Senior Teacher- Information Technology
The ideal candidate will:
- display high levels of professionalism, commitment and integrity.
- have a passion for information technology and for teaching.
- hold appropriate teaching qualifications and be registered with SACE.
- be well-versed in curriculum design, assessment practice and pedagogical methodologies.
- be innovative, with strong technology skills, an understanding of AI, and confident to integrate digital tools into the classroom.
- demonstrate an understanding of 21st century skills, including collaboration, communication, creativity and critical thinking, and integrate these within the curriculum.
- provide strong academic leadership within the IT department and work effectively within a team of well qualified, motivated professionals.
- communicate effectively and demonstrate strong organisational and administrative abilities.
- operate as a lifelong learner and remain informed about trends in technology and education.
- demonstrate an understanding and appreciation of the nuances of boys' education, and support the development of confident, independent, caring and resilient young men.
- contribute meaningfully to the school's co curricular and extramural programme.
- teach digital literacy, which would be considered an advantage.
- serve as a tutor within the house system, actively engaging with pupils and supporting their well being and academic progress.
- display an understanding of and commitment to the Catholic ethos and Marist values of the school and uphold the school's Marist value system.
