We are seeking a Head of Pumps Sales - CNS - MA Africa. The successful candidate will lead the Day to Day Pumps Sales, Indirect Pumps Sales, Pumps Technical Sales Support and the Pumps Project Sales Teams within the Africa Market Area. This role drives strategic account development, strengthens customer partnerships and ensures Pump Order Intake growth. This position plays a critical role in positioning the organization as a market leader in Pumps, Cyclones, Valves and Hoses portfolio.
In this position, you will report to the Marketing Director, Africa.
This position is mainly located in Centurion, Gauteng.
WHAT YOU WILL DO Strategic Leadership- Manage the day to day, Indirect Pumps and Projects Sales team.
- Develop and execute a regional sales strategy aligned with global business objectives.
- Drive sustainable revenue growth, profitability and market share expansion.
- Identify new market opportunities, emerging trends and competitive positioning.
- Lead long term business planning including forecasting, budgeting and pipeline development.
- Own and deliver annual sales targets (orders intake, revenue, margins).
- Drive growth in both capital equipment and aftermarket/service business.
- Contribute to the optimisation of pricing strategies, contract negotiations and commercial terms.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and sales effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the Regional Sales Teams to drive order intake.
- Build and maintain executive level relationships with key mining customers, EPCMs and stakeholders.
- Drive customer centric solutions that improve plant performance (availability, throughput, recovery).
- Handle complex negotiations and high value contracts.
- Translate technical product capabilities into measurable customer value propositions.
- Support solution design in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
- Promote integrated solutions across pumps, cyclones, valves and hoses.
- Ensure alignment with customer process requirements (e.g., grinding, classification, slurry transport).
- Promote a safety culture in the team, in collaboration with the QEHS team.
- Lead, mentor and develop a high performing sales team.
- Establish clear performance objectives, coaching plans and succession strategies.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and customer focus.
- Drive technical and commercial competencies within the team.
- Drive the MA Africa Culture within the Pumps team.
- Expand footprint in key mining regions and strategic accounts.
- Drive specification positioning with EPCMs and consultants.
- Identify and develop partnerships, channels and distribution networks.
- Lead go to market strategies for new products and innovations.
- Collaborate with Product, Service, Operations and Supply Chain teams.
- Ensure seamless execution from sales to delivery and lifecycle support.
- Provide market feedback to inform product development and innovation.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements and ethical standards.
- Manage commercial risks, contract exposure and credit control.
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline visibility.
- Matric (Grade 12)
- Degree or Diploma Engineering and/or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in managing a Sales Team.
- Proven track record in pumps and related product sales.
- Solid people leadership capability: coaching, performance management and team development.
- Strong compliance mindset and understanding of documentation requirements for cross border logistics and customs clearance (in collaboration with Trade Compliance).
- Data driven approach with experience using KPIs to manage performance and improve execution quality.
- Strategic thinking and business planning.
