The role

The Head of Product is responsible for defining and executing the product vision and strategy for a portfolio of enterprise-grade financial technology and payment solutions. This role requires a unique blend of executive product leadership, deep expertise in strategic design thinking, and specialised domain knowledge in enterprise software, both ready for sale and ready for delivery. The Head of Product will ensure the product portfolio drives market leadership, maximises long-term business value, delivers deeply integrated reliability and incorporates advanced technologies like AI to solve the complex needs of institutional clients. This role translates complex client needs and strategic goals into a cohesive, actionable product roadmap and design mandate, focusing on highly regulated, high-value enterprise software solutions.

Strategic Design & Vision
  • Lead the product strategy for Electrum's products, from initial concept validation through high-level feature definition and success metrics, ensuring adherence to compliance standards.
  • Work closely with executive leadership to synchronise product strategy with business goals, R&D investment priorities, and market opportunities within the Addressable sector.
  • Establish and enforce design standards, principles, and quality benchmarks that ensure a consistent, superior, and highly secure user experience across all financial applications.
Roadmap & Portfolio Management
  • Develop and maintain the long-term, cross-product portfolio roadmap for payment and VAS solutions, prioritising initiatives based on strategic impact, market potential, and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the product lifecycle for high-impact, strategic initiatives, ensuring successful handoff from strategic design to execution teams and managing technical architecture implications.
  • Conduct continuous competitive analysis and technology forecasting specific to FinTech, banking infrastructure, and emerging payment rails (e.g., real-time payments, Central Bank Digital Currencies).
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as the primary product advocate for the strategic vision, communicating effectively with internal stakeholders (Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Compliance) and external partners (banks, financial institutions).
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration, ensuring alignment between product design, engineering feasibility, marketing GTM strategies, and financial/regulatory projections.
  • Mentor and develop product management talent, fostering a data-informed, customer-centric, and innovation-driven environment, particularly around AI integration and security.
Educational qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Design, Business, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Relevant experience:
  • Direct experience with digital transformation initiatives or bringing a significant new product category (e.g., a core banking system component, a global payment platform) to market.
  • Proven success in a Head of Product, VP of Product, or similar senior strategic role within enterprise software.
  • Extensive experience defining and managing product strategy and design in an agile development environment; Experience with large enterprise platforms like SAP or Oracle, and their application in the financial sector.
  • Deep knowledge of specific financial domains (e.g., Treasury Management, Core Banking, Fraud/Risk Management, SCM in a FinServ context).
