Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret basic drawings, measurements, and job instructions.
  • Measure and inspect workpieces using measuring tools to ensure accuracy and quality standards are met.
  • Perform surface finishing, deburring, and material removal as required.
  • Ensure grinding work meets quality, tolerance, and finish requirements.
  • Maintain and care for grinding equipment, tools, and work areas.
  • Adhere to health, safety, and housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Identify and report defects, tool wear, or equipment issues to the supervisor.
  • Work efficiently to meet production targets and deadlines.
  • Assist with general workshop duties when required.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Grade 10 or Grade 12 (Matric).
  • Relevant technical or vocational training in metalwork, machining, or engineering (advantageous but not essential).
  • Minimum 1-3 years' experience operating grinding machines in a manufacturing or workshop environment.
  • Proven experience in surface grinding, bench grinding, or hand grinding of metal components.
  • Experience working with steel or heavy engineering components is an advantage.
