Assistant Process Manager

Cemza is seeking an experienced Assistant Process Manager to join our Production team in Port Elizabeth. This role is focused on implementing and maintaining high efficiency standards within the Milling Plant. The successful candidate will take ownership of process reporting, improvements, risk management, and waste reduction across milling operations.

• Report on process performance and implement improvements
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives
• Analyse production data to identify and mitigate risks
• Oversee chemical handling and safety in production inputs
• Manage and reduce waste, ensuring proper consumable usage
• Draft and submit monthly maintenance and performance reports
• Ensure product quality and prevent deviations
• Collaborate with the mill team to deliver on production KPIs
• Maintain compliance with EH&S and company policies
• Provide technical support and maintenance for all IT systems, ensuring operational reliability, system performance, and user satisfaction within the plant.
• Conduct lab-based analysis of raw materials, processes, and final products to support production quality and compliance with environmental, safety, and quality management systems.
• Manage end-to-end logistics, including in-house and outsourced transportation, warehouse operations, and stock movement to support production and customer delivery goals.
• Manage and optimise all milling plant operations, ensuring performance standards are met through continuous process improvement, risk analysis, and efficiency tracking.

• Diploma in Chemical Engineering (minimum requirement)
• 5-8 years' experience in Engineering and Manufacturing
• Proven experience in process optimisation within a production environment

• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Experience in risk mitigation and quality control
• Familiarity with integrated environmental and quality systems
• Analytical thinking and innovation in plant efficiency

• Based at Cemza Plant in Port Elizabeth
• Permanent role
