Purpose of the Role

LIV Durban is seeking a creative and detail-orientedGraphic Designeron a three-month contract to support the marketing team with high-quality visual design.

This role will focus on creating engaging visual assets that communicate the mission of LIV and support marketing, fundraising, and communication initiatives acrossLIV Durban, LIV Central, and LIV Business.

The Graphic Designer will also serve as abrand custodian, ensuring that all design work aligns with the LIV brand identity, visual standards, and values.

Key Responsibilities Graphic Design & Visual Communication
  • Design marketing materials for both digital and print platforms, including:
    • Social media graphics
    • Newsletters and email visuals
    • Brochures and flyers
    • Campaign graphics
    • Presentations and reports
    • Event and promotional materials
  • Business profiles, product catalogues, and slide decks
  • Create visually compelling designs that clearly communicate LIV's mission and impact.
  • Develop templates and design assets that can be used consistently across marketing platforms.
Campaign & Marketing Support
  • Support the marketing team with visual assets for campaigns, fundraising initiatives, and events.
  • Work closely with the content creator to design graphics that complement photography and video storytelling.
  • Assist with preparing visual content for donor communication, reports, and presentations.
Brand Custodianship
  • Ensure all design work adheres to LIV's brand guidelines, tone, and visual identity.
  • Act as a visual brand ambassador for LIV Durban and the wider LIV Group.
  • Maintain excellence and consistency in all visual communications across departments and villages.
Skills & Experience Technical Skills
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign).
  • Experience using Affinity design software.
  • Experience with Canva and other design tools.
  • Strong layout, typography, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Ability to design for both digital and print formats
Experience
  • 2-5 years' experience in a graphic design or creative role.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating branding, marketing, and digital design work.
  • Experience working with marketing teams or nonprofit organisations is advantageous.
