Job Description

Job Purpose

The purpose of the Floor Manager is to execute planned production schedules successfully to meet customer deliverables.

Job Objectives and Functions Production Management
  • To create a daily machine plan to identify the required resources to meet production schedules' end date timeously
  • Direct an efficient layout of equipment and flow of materials to ensure effective execution of the production schedule
  • Ensure that there is sufficient stock for branding in conjunction with the Planning Department
  • Ensure that all branding products adhere to the quality standards
  • Escalate all quality defected products to the Quality Department to resolve and implement preventative measures
  • Ensure Production meets all customer delivery dates
  • Extract and analyze production data to optimize production processes and improve efficiencies within operations
Staff Management and Development
  • Establish goals for production, and coordinate a plan to meet those goals
  • Responsible for the overall performance and effectiveness of the team by creating and communicating performance and operating standards and measuring employee's ability to adhere to these standards.
  • Responsible for applying corrective measures according to the company's code of conduct
  • Responsible for the overall development of the team in order to meet business requirements.
  • Responsible for workforce planning through recruitment and selection of competent staff. Manage outputs, performance and development of the teams in order to achieve overall performance results of the department.
Health and Safety
  • Ensure equipment meets performance and safety requirements by managing an effective maintenance plan
  • Accountable for the health and safety of all staff in the area.
  • Conduct weekly risk assessments in areas and ensure that plans are actioned to minimize or mitigate risks identified.
Housekeeping
  • Accountable for the effective adherence to housekeeping principles for the area
Job Requirements Qualifications and experience
  • NQF 4 ( Matric)
  • NQF 5 ( Production Management)
  • Lean Six Sigma ( Green Belt)
  • Floor Manager in Gifting, apparel, signage, or branding industry( 3-5 Years )
  • Working within a unionized environment ( 2-3 Years )
