General Maintenance Assistant

We are seeking a highly competent and dedicated General Maintenance Assistant to support the Maintenance Department by performing routine upkeep, repairs, inspections, and general tasks that ensure all facilities, equipment, and infrastructure remain fully operational and in good condition.

• Conduct routine inspections of buildings, equipment, and facilities.
• Assist with basic repairs, including plumbing, electrical, painting, and carpentry tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance workshops and storage areas.
• Replace lightbulbs, fixtures, damaged panels, and other minor fittings as required.

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Basic knowledge of maintenance tools and equipment
• 1-2 years' experience in a maintenance, technical, or facilities environment (advantageous)
• Valid driver's licence
• Foundational mechanical and electrical understandingStrong problem solving ability and a willingness to learn
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team
• Physically fit, with the ability to lift, carry, climb, and work in various conditions
• High attention to detail
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently when required
• Experience with general maintenance tasks and basic welding (advantageous)
