Job Description

We're looking for passionate and innovative educators to join our dynamic and revered Further Studies Maths team, where you can make a real impact in the academic journey of our learners! The Further Studies Maths Educator will be responsible for delivering high-quality education to our Grade 10-12 learners in Further Studies Maths.

The candidate we're looking for
  • Creates significant improvement in learners' understanding and performance in Further Studies Mathematics.
  • Garners high levels of learner engagement and satisfaction.
  • Provides timely and effective delivery of curriculum-aligned content and assessments.
  • Positive feedback from learners, parents, and educational partners.
Location

The candidate must be based in Durban.

Key responsibilities
  • Teach Further Studies Maths lessons weekly, including a 90-120 minute lesson followed by a 15-minute consultation period to address individual learner needs.
  • Develop and mark termly assessments and provide detailed feedback to learners and parents.
  • Manage learner interactions through class forums and direct consultations, ensuring a responsive and supportive learning environment.
  • Attend and actively participate in parents' evenings and elective information sessions to foster community involvement and support for learners.
  • Collaborate with the Further Studies team to ensure high-quality content development and delivery.
  • Remain abreast of educational trends and curriculum updates to continually enhance teaching effectiveness.
Term

Annual contract with monthly remuneration (January to December).

Skills, competencies and qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or related field; a teaching qualification is preferred.
  • Proven experience in teaching Further Studies Mathematics at a high school level, with specific expertise in the South African curriculum.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create and deliver engaging, learner-centric lessons.
  • Proficiency in digital teaching tools and platforms.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
