Job Description
As the Full Time Spa Reservationist/Back Up Therapist Assistant Spa Manager, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, creating a seamless and welcoming booking journey that reflects Steenberg Spa's purpose of "Restoring self through connection." This role ensures that all spa reservations are handled with accuracy, efficiency, and warmth, while supporting the spa reception team when required. While also being trained to offer therapeutic services when needed.
Key Responsibilities- Team Management: Assist in supervising, mentoring, and motivating the spa team, ensuring a high level of professionalism and performance.
- Guest Experience: Ensure guests receive exceptional service from arrival to departure; address any guest concerns promptly and professionally to maintain satisfaction and loyalty.
- Operations Oversight: Support the Spa Manager in overseeing daily operations, including staff scheduling, inventory management, and equipment maintenance; promote spa services and retail products to guests, driving revenue growth and achieving monthly sales targets; assist in organizing staff training to ensure consistent service excellence and up-to-date product knowledge; ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene regulations at all times; handle bookings, manage client records, and assist with reporting and budgeting tasks as required.
- Diploma or Certification in Somatology, Beauty Therapy Matric or equivalent qualification is essential.
- Hospitality or administrative training is advantageous.
- Computer Literacy with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a front desk, reservations, or guest service role within a spa, hotel, or hospitality environment
- ESP/Nanoverse or similar spa booking software advantageous.
- Ability to manage guest communication across multiple channels (phone, email, and in person).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills with attention to detail.
- Confident and professional telephone manner.
- Ability to multitask and prioritise in a high-volume environment.
- Accurate handling of bookings, payments, and scheduling adjustments.
- Calm, courteous, and solutions-driven when handling guest requests or challenges.
- Sales-oriented with an understanding of upselling spa services and retail add-ons.
