Frontend Technical Lead

As theFrontend Technical Lead, you will play a critical role in shaping the technical direction of our frontend ecosystem. This role combineshands-on engineering with technical leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, scalable frontend solutions.

You will act as thetechnical authority for frontend development, leading architecture decisions,establishingdevelopment standards, and guiding engineers in building robust React applications. Working closely with Product, DevOps, and backend teams, you will help drive the evolution of our platform while ensuring engineering excellence.

This role requires someone who is passionate aboutbuilding performant, maintainable systems, mentoring developers, and creating best-in-class frontend experiences.

• Providetechnical leadership and architectural guidancefor frontend development across the platform.
• Design andmaintainscalable frontend architecture using React and Next.js.
• Establish and championcoding standards, best practices, and engineering principlesacross the frontend team.
• Work closely withProduct Owners, DevOps, and backend engineersto align technical solutions with business and product goals.
• Lead technical discussions, design reviews, andarchitecture decisionsfor new features and platform improvements.
• Ensurehigh-quality code through reviews, testing strategies, and performance optimisation.
• Identifyand implement improvements todeveloper experience, tooling, and development workflows.
• Providetechnical mentorship and guidanceto frontend engineers, helping them grow their technical capabilities.
• Contribute actively to the codebase, leading by example withhands-on developmentwhererequired.
• Support Agile development practices, contributing toplanning, technical estimation, and sprint ceremonies.

• Strong hands-on experience withReact, including frameworks such asNext.js.
• Proven experience designingfrontend architecture and scalable UI systems.
• Experience collaborating withbackend engineers to build end-to-end applications.
• Strong understanding offrontend performance optimisation and application scalability.
• Excellent communication skills, able totranslate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience providingtechnical leadership, mentorship, or leading engineering initiatives.
• Experience withmodern build tools and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity withcloud platforms and deployment environments (Azure DevOps,Vercel, AWS).
• Experience withfrontend testing frameworkssuch asJest, React Testing Library, Cypress, or Playwright.
• Experience working inAgile/Scrum environmentsand contributing to technical planning.
• Knowledge ofweb security best practices, including OWASP principles and authentication/authorisation patterns.
• Experience buildingdesign systems or reusablecomponentlibraries.
