Finishing Team Leader - North West - Up to £33k pa
Job Description
We are looking for a team leader who will take overall responsibility for the smooth and efficient running of the assigned stitching-line, stitching-drum, polybagging or binding line.
Candidates must have experience of Ferag Unidrum Stitching lines or Mullerr Martini Supra.
This position reports to the Shift Manager.
Responsibilities- Control, organise, task and develop crew, manage material resources, quality, output and achievement of schedules, Health & Safety, and equipment care and maintenance.
- Minimise potential delays that would affect agreed schedules and lead to equipment standing time.
- Reduce waste to a minimum due to the high cost of raw material.
- Manage and monitor a small team assigned to a machine.
- Ensure maximum potential output and quality is achieved for the shift period.
- Take responsibility for all materials required to fulfil job requirement for shift.
- Pass jobs for quality and ensure sample/file copies are available by agreed timescales.
- Maintain equipment to the highest level ensuring optimum performance.
- Operate and care for equipment and environment, meeting all current Health & Safety legislation and client standards.
- Continuously improve process efficiency, eliminating unnecessary costs from the business.
- Communicate maintenance/breakdown requirements to service personnel.
- Work with the manufacturing team on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Maintain housekeeping of the working area at all times.
- Ensure appropriate handovers between shifts and departments.
- Support the Shift Managers and Department Managers on operational issues as required.
- Involve actively in staff recruitment, selection, training, development and appraisal as required.
- Apply discipline, council or redirect as appropriate in line with Company policies.
- Undertake key tasks/objectives as required from time to time.
- Possibly fulfil duties of a floating crew member, who is not fixed to a machine.
