Job Description

Main purpose:
Their primary responsibility is to oversee the process of receiving finished goods from manufacturing and facilitating the sale of Finished goods to our primary customers, ensuring that these goods are correct, of good quality, and are properly stored. The Finished goods supervisor, will need to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the scanning and dispatching process, contributing to overall operational efficiency and reducing errors in inventory management by carrying out the following:
- Ensuring Accurate Receipt and delivering of Finished goods
- Verify FG Receipts: The checking of incoming finished goods against the stock report.
- Inspection of Finished Goods: The inspecting of the goods for any visible damage, defects before shipment to the customer via the FG Checking team.
- Expediting of shortages: Expediting of FG shortages(Potential SSNs) via the SSN tracking board and direct follow ups with manufacturing PICs.
- Customer Invoicing: Ensuring Shipped goods are invoiced at all times via RIMS and escalation of any invoicing issues.
- Internal Kanban Management: Ensure the correct flow of Kanban and ensuring accurate control of kanban in circulation.
- Documentation and Record Keeping
- Maintain Records: The keeping accurate records of what has been invoiced, noting any discrepancies or shortages.
- Coordinate with Other Departments: providing the relevant departments (like purchasing, production, quality, and finance) with documentation related to stock holding and deliveries.
- Inventory Updates: ensuring that inventory levels are updated in the company's system via timeous scanning and invoicing. Ensure inventory golden rules are observed at all times.
- Storage/Stock holding: Overseeing the proper storage of finished goods, making sure that items are stored safely, visibly(visual management) and in accordance with their min and max requirements and ensuring preservation to prevent rust.
- Stock counts & Monthly Cycle counts: Carrying out efficient and accurate inventory counts to support inventory reporting and planning.
- Escalation: Ensure that any risk to supplying customer requirements is escalated internally and to the customer.
- Problem Resolution and project management
- Handle stock Discrepancies: Engage actively with the CFT on any issue arising within Finished goods regarding stock accuracy and FG part quality.
- Problem Solving: Addressing of any operational issues via countermeasure follow up sheets and management of open items
- Project activities: Ensuring active engagement in project activities and expectation and cascading of project information and milestones to FG team members via direct reports.
- Compliance and Safety
- Health & Safety: Ensuring that safety protocols are followed during the receiving and handling of goods to prevent accidents or damage, both to staff and to equipment. This includes the maintenance of warehousing equipment such as jacks and forklifts.
- Compliance: They ensure that all receiving processes comply with company policies and legal regulations, including customs if applicable.
- 5S: Ensuring Good 5S practices are observed at all times and 5S audits are conducted timeously.
- Team Management
- Supervising FG Staff: Overseeing and supervising the team and their work, ensuring efficient workflow and training staff on best practices. This includes fairly distributing the work and ensuring the warehouse and individual cadences align and support the operational and administration requirements.
- Performance Management: By collating data for both supplier and team performance measurement for counselling and continuous improvement.
- Visual Management: Ensure the upkeep of performance tracker boards, project activity and cadence adherence of team members

Job Specification
Technical skills and specialist knowledge:
- 3 years warehousing experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of ERP systems (Syspro)
- Experience:
- 5 years stores exp in a manufacturing environment
- Intermediate level computer skills (Excel, MS Word)
Qualifications:
- Grade 12 (Critical)
- Post Matric Qualification in a Supply Chain management or Industrial engineering.
